Title & Author- Of Poseidon by Anna Banks

Genre- Young Adult, Teen Fiction, Romance, Adventure, Fantasy, Mermaid, Under the Sea

Rating- 3/5

Synopsis- "Galen is the prince of the Syrena, sent to land to find a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. Emma is on vacation at the beach. When she runs into Galen—literally, ouch!—both teens sense a connection. But it will take several encounters, including a deadly one with a shark, for Galen to be convinced of Emma's gifts. Now, if he can only convince Emma that she holds the key to his kingdom...

Told from both Emma and Galen's points of view, here is a fish-out-of-water story that sparkles with intrigue, humor, and waves of romance."

Review- Unfortunately, this book was a bit of a disappointment.  From reading the synopsis, I had very high hopes going into reading the book.  I didn't really feel the connection between the Emma and Galen and I wasn’t a fan of the world under the sea.  I'm not complaining but, I'm curious as to why Galen's point of view was told in third person while Emma's was written in first.  Eventually, the connection between the two ignited making the story better but overall, I thought this story was underdeveloped.  Also, this story didn’t really capture my focus very well.  I found myself getting distracted easily and at times, I was forcing myself to read it.

will be picking up the second book because the last line in the first book had me wondering what came next and I’m curious where this story will take me!  I
I’ve heard a couple people say they didn’t enjoy it but I’m going to keep my mind open!
